Leading and Learning: Helping new developers succeed with ASP.NET Core

Here at Red Cedar Solutions Group we strive to stay at the forefront of new technologies and practices. Often we initiate innovations from company-wide initiatives, and sometimes team members lead the way through personal interests. In the case of Eric Vogel, one of our Senior Software Engineers, he is interested in the newest technologies both inside and outside the office.

You may have heard of ASP.NET before, or it could be the first time you have encountered the name. If you are the former, Eric wants to make sure you stay ahead of the pack and know how to use it. He has been actively contributing to the Visual Studio Magazine since 2011, providing readers with in-depth tutorials and insights into how to use the newest features of this framework.

Recently, Eric has noticed a lack of resources for new users of ASP.NET Core, a framework for cross-platform web applications. What’s a Senior Programmer to do? Write a four-part tutorial, of course! As this blog is posted, “ASP.NET Core: Learning the Ropes, Part 1” of his series has been published, with  parts 2, 3, and 4 coming soon! Here is is a link to Part 1: https://visualstudiomagazine.com/articles/2018/10/01/aspnet-core-learning-ropes.aspx.

If you want to stay up to date on everything happening in the world of programming while you wait, he encourages you to visit https://www.codeproject.com and https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/msdn-magazine-issues.aspx. Or look for him on the most popular articles section of Visual Studio Magazine where is a frequent guest.
